Wayne H. Spath is a lifelong leader in Florida’s bail bond profession and one of the most respected figures in the industry. Born and raised in Broward County, Wayne began his career in the skilled trades, completing the Broward County Plumbers Joint Apprenticeship Program following his graduation from Hollywood High School in 1963. His early work took him across the United States, including serving as a pipefitter on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline during its historic construction.

In 1979, Wayne became the owner of Brandy Bail Bonds, a family-founded agency established in the early 1970s by Brandy Spath. Under Wayne’s leadership, Brandy Bail Bonds has grown into one of the fastest, most efficient bail bond agencies in the country. The company continues as a proud multi-generation business, supported by leading technology solutions and its long-standing partnership with Accredited Surety & Casualty Company.

Wayne’s dedication to the bail profession extends well beyond business ownership. He has been an active member of the Florida Surety Agents Association (FSAA) since 1978 and served on its Board of Directors from 1991 through 2025. His leadership roles include:

• President: 1993, 1998–2002

• Vice President: 1991

• FASPAC Treasurer (1996) and Chairman (1997–1998)

• Legislative Co-Chair (2006–2008)

• Education Chairman (2005, 2007–2008)

• By-Laws Chairman (2009–2010)

Wayne is certified by the Department of Insurance as both an expert witness on bail and as a licensed instructor. Over the years, he has contributed extensively to state-level regulatory and advisory committees, including:

• State Appointment – Bail Bond Regulatory Board / Advisory Bondsman Representative (1986–1996)

• State Appointment – Department of Insurance Blue Ribbon Panel (2002)

• Bail Bond Representative – Public Safety Coordinating Council (appointed 2008; serving 2010–present)

His influence also extends throughout the community. Wayne is a long-time member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 719, the Broward County Bail Agents Association, and Professional Bail Agents of the United States.

Since 2014, Wayne has proudly served on the Broward County Sheriff’s Advisory Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting first responders and the families of those injured or killed in the line of duty. His commitment to public safety, community support, and professional integrity has earned him recognition across Florida.
