My career in the bail bond industry began as a second-generation bail agent, proudly following in the footsteps of my mother, Olivia Sheppard. I first entered the profession by earning my runner’s license and working alongside my brother, Bill, conducting bail recoveries throughout South Florida. After several successful years in the field, I advanced to a 2-34 agent and founded Ed Sheppard Bail Bonds in Miami, Florida. I operated my retail agency for more than thirty years, serving clients with professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to the highest industry standards.

Upon retiring from retail bail operations, I continued my service to the industry on a broader scale. I was hired by International Fidelity Insurance Company and Allegheny Casualty Company to represent them in the field, a role that ultimately led to my current position. For the past 21 years, I have served as Vice President of Agent and Legislative Affairs for AIA Surety. I also serve as the Managing General Agent for the State of Florida, where I oversee a wide range of responsibilities that support agents and strengthen our professional community.

Throughout my career, I have remained actively involved in state and local bail associations, holding positions such as Treasurer, Vice President, President, and many years as a Board Director. I am also proud to be a past Chairman of the Council of Presidents within the Professional Bail Agents of the United States (PBUS).

My lifelong commitment to this profession reflects my dedication to the agents I serve, the integrity of the industry, and the continued advancement of the bail community across Florida and the nation.
